Portugal is now the most searched for destination to buy a home abroad based on country page views, and property views, the Homesoverseas website revealed after updating page views and visits.

Explaining the latest shift towards Portugal by Britons looking to purchase a home abroad, the website www.homes

overseas.co.uk explains that Spain’s woes, such as a string of property scandals, corruption, oversupply of housing, and dodgy legislation, such as Valencia’s ‘land grab’ law - has led people to look for property in Portugal.

Portugal has leapt from fourth – two months ago - to the primary most searched for destination to buy a home abroad, on their website.

Other movers were: Italy, up from fourth to third, Greece, up from seventh to sixth, Thailand, up from 14th to ninth, and Brazil, up from 15th to tenth.
